The Athletics Australia STAR resource program is an educational resource tool for providing guidelines for teachers in the coaching of students in the sport of athletics.
It is an interactive DVD for use on a PC. It is not designed for MAC systems.
Description
The Athletics Australia STAR program is designed to give teachers, coaches, athletes and parents basic information regarding technique and training for sprints, relays, hurdles, middle and long distance (up to 3000m), high, long and triple jump, shot put, discus, javelin and race walking.
The program has a section for each event that provides useful coaching and training tips and drills, incorporating high-quality video footage and clear voice-over commentary. In addition, the program contains general information on the rules of athletics, advice on warming up and cooling down, nutrition and injury prevention and much more.
STAR is designed to provide quality information for developing athletes aged in the early teenage years. It has a great deal of quality information presented in a viewer-friendly format on easy-access DVD, for use on a PC.
Athletics Australia recommends the STAR program to all teachers, coaches, athletes and parents.
